Join us for an amazing 4-day trip to Machu Picchu along the famous Inca Trail! This adventure combines history, beauty, and excitement, ending with a breathtaking view of Machu Picchu as you walk through the Sun Gate.

Itinerary
Machu Picchu Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Piskacucho Km 82 – Llactapata – Ayapata
Your adventure begins in Cusco, Urubamba, or Ollantaytambo. The Visti-Peru team will pick you up early. They’ll confirm your pick-up time during your briefing. After a hearty breakfast at the Porter House in Ollantaytambo and meeting your porters, you’ll drive to Km 82. Don’t forget your original passport for the first Inca Trail checkpoint. The day starts with a two-hour hike to the Inca site of Patallacta. After lunch, you’ll walk through two small communities to reach the Ayapata campsite. Here, relax with a hot drink and chat with your team. Dinner will be served at 7:30 PM before you settle in for the night.

- Campsite Altitude: 3300 meters
- Considered: Moderate day (acclimating to the Inca Trail)

Day 2: Dead Woman’s Pass – Runcuraccay Pass – Chaquicocha
The porters will wake you early with coca tea. You’ll hike for about four hours to Dead Woman’s Pass, the trek’s highest point at 4215 meters. After lunch in Pacaymayu Valley, you’ll hike up again to the second pass. Along the way, you’ll pass an Inca site and see two waterfalls. Day 2 ends at Chaquicocha campsite at 3600 meters, where you can enjoy star-gazing.

Day 3: Chaquiccocha – Wiñay Wayna
Get ready for the most beautiful part of the Inca Trail! You’ll start early and walk through the “Inca flat” and into the Cloud Forest. Enjoy stunning views of the Sacred Valley, including Machu Picchu Mountain. As you descend to Wiñay Wayna campsite, you’ll visit two Inca ruins. A main Inca site tour will follow this before settling into camp. A special meal and team ceremony will close the day.

- Difficulty: Easy day – all downhill!
- Area: High Cloud Forest
- Weather: Warm and very humid
Day 4: Sun Gate – Machu Picchu – The Lost City Of The Incas
Wake up at 3:30 AM for breakfast. Then head to the Sun Gate to see Machu Picchu at dawn. You’ll be amazed by the view as you approach the ancient city. The day ends with a guided tour and time to explore. Your journey wraps up with a bus ride to Aguas Calientes for an optional lunch. After that, head back to Cusco by train and bus.
