Inca Trail 4 Days Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco to Piskacucho (Km 82), Trek to Wayllabamba  

Begin your journey early in the morning with a drive from Cusco to the starting point at Piskacucho (Km 82). After a brief orientation, start your trek along the Urubamba River. Enjoy your first day’s hike through beautiful valleys and Inca ruins, culminating in your campsite at Wayllabamba, where you’ll enjoy dinner and rest for the night.

Day 2: Wayllabamba to Pacaymayo  

On the second day, prepare for the most challenging segment of the trek as you ascend to the highest point at Warmiwañusca Pass (4,215 meters). The effort is rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. After descending, you’ll camp at Pacaymayo, where you can relax and enjoy a hearty meal prepared by your trekking team.

Day 3: Pacaymayo to Wiñay Wayna  

After breakfast, trek towards the second pass, Runkurakay, and explore the ancient ruins along the way, including Sayacmarca. Continue through lush vegetation and arrive at Wiñay Wayna, your final campsite. Spend the evening enjoying the beautiful surroundings and preparing for the next day’s highlight.

Day 4: Wiñay Wayna to Machu Picchu  

Rise early to complete your trek to Machu Picchu. The final stretch takes you to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of the ruins. After taking in the scenery, descend to Machu Picchu for a guided tour, exploring its fascinating history and architecture. After your visit, you can return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and relaxation before taking the train back to Cusco.
